The desire to buy a home is beggining to manifest its self in savings levels. The public at large this past year (2008) started getting the message that home financing as it was is a thing of the past. Americans are saving more than they have in a long time. The personal savings rate rose to 3.6 percent in December and averaged 1.7 percent for the whole year. The Baby Boomer generation by definition is 78,000,000 strong. Starting in 07, 26,000 per day 7 days a week are hitting retirement age. Of those 26,000, 5000 per day are choosing to relocate to a new destination. According to surveys the # 1 reason for selcting the new destination is affordability. # 2 reason is moderate climate ( ie no hurricanes, tornados, floods, snow shoveling). # 3 convenient access to a varity of quality recreation. # 4 easy access to quality medical services.
