According to the World Investment Report (2008) issued by the UNCTAD, Egypt is the first in North Africa and the second in Africa in attracting FDI inflows. Egypt ranks 20th with regards to the FDI Performance Index. Net FDI inflows increased from USD 509.4 billion during FY 2000/01 to reach USD 6.1 billion during FY 2005/06, USD 11.1 million during FY 2006/07 and USD 13.2 billion during FY 2007/08
